Job Description
A Bellperson escorts arriving and departing guests in a friendly, courteous manner to and from their accommodations, as well as providing general information regarding the hotel and local attractions. This position requires basic English language communication skills, exceptional hospitality skills, and the ability to lift and carry heavy packages and luggage, and perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, and walking significant distances.
This position requires a Pre-Hire Assessment as part of the application process. For best results we recommend you complete the assessment in one seating without any interruptions or distractions and therefore advise that you begin the application process when you can dedicate 20-30 minutes of uninterrupted time to apply for this opening.

Basic Purpose: Perform duties of Bell person, assisting guests upon check-in and check-out and as needed.
Additional Schedule Information:8 hour shift; Scheduled days and times may vary based on need.
General Duties: Show guests to room assisting them with their luggage. Explain all hotel facilities, their location in the hotel, hours of operation, and answer all questions about these facilities and other hotel questions. Check luggage for hotel guests both for day and overnight. Maintain the designated stations in the lobby, standing alert to be easily summoned for fronts. Open doors while guests are being greeted in a friendly and courteous manner. Maintain the cleanliness of the bellstand, lobby and baggage room. Keep lobby door and windows clean when not busy with guests. Post the daily events board and entertainment board in the lobby. Maintain an open communication line through all shifts by proper use of intershift log. Deliver messages and valet to guest rooms.
Perform pick-ups and drop-offs at the airport for the guests in a timely and friendly manner and inspect vehicles. May perform the duties of a valet. Assist front desk with key inventory twice weekly.
Essential functions of the job:Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs and push or pull a minimum of 120 lbs of various sizes of luggage, packages, coolers and boxes. Must be able to bend to lift luggage, packages, coolers and/or boxes that weigh up to 60 lbs. Continually walking, standing, lifting or pulling, 90 to 95% of time, large step into van. Continuous standing 95% of time. Must be able to drive a minimum of 150 miles per day at various times of day on an as needed basis. Work on Van/Truck 20% of 8 hr. shift. Copier, CRT, PBX Equipment 10-20%.
Qualifications: High School education or equivalent experience. Customer Contact Experience preferred.Ability to communicate with guests, respond to questions, knowledge of hotel services, local area events and activities. Ability to drive vans, limousines and automobiles and an excellent driving record as verified by a Motor Vehicle Report preferred. Second language may be desired.
