Job Description
The Front Desk Clerk is a member of the Front Office team. S/he are responsible for: maintaining and promoting hospitality at all times; welcoming and serving guests in a courteous, efficient and friendly manner, both face-to-face and on the phone. As part of this job, this individual is required to: demonstrate good computer skills; accurately handle cash and charges; stand for long periods of time; present a friendly, outgoing, energetic and guest service oriented demeanor.

Schedule Information: Varied shifts and days off. Includes weekends. 24 hrs per week.
Welcome and check in arrivals, thank and check out departures. Respond to questions, requests and problems. Coordinate reservations; follow room inventory and monetary control. Maintain Interstate standards of quality and guest service. Other job related duties as assigned by management to include cross training.
Assist guest with special requests i.e. transportation service, event tickets, airline tickets and travel information. Provide information concerning hotel amenities and services. Provide guest information concerning area/local activities. Monitor breakfast and cocktail service on a premium level. Other job related duties as assigned by management to include cross training.
Must meet attendance requirements. Constant standing, stooping, twisting, reaching and attention to detail. Frequent hearing and speaking on the telephone and in person. Frequent handling, grasping.
High school graduate or G.E.D. equivalent. 7th / 8th grade math skills required. Computer literate. Read, write and speak English fluently. Knowledge of a 2nd language or culture preferred. Working knowledge of downtown Rochester and surrounding areas preferred. Must be able to perform all the essential functions of the job.
